Dr.Ven Tan Volunteered In Community Education Seminars
　
　　In order to help Chinese elders in Australia to better understand the risks and benefits of medication, Dr Ven Tan recently accepted an invitation from the Australian Chinese Community Association (ACCA), volunteered in “Getting to know your medicine knowledge seminar” and delivered a speech on “Quality use of medicine” on 4th November 2008.
 
　　In the speech, Dr Tan gave an overview on the Australian medical system, following with a detailed introduction on issues including:
  • What is a medicine
  • The risks and benefits of medicine use
  • How to minimize risks and use medicines safely
　　This seminar was organized by ACCA and sponsored by FECCA and NPS. It attracted over 110 participants. Dr Tan gave all participants a very thorough explanation on the quality use of medicine in an easily understandable manner and answered questions from the participants.
　　The seminar was successfully closed with an award from ACCA to Dr Ven Tan.
