The Government of The People Republic of China has recently decided to overhaul the currently overbearing National Health System. They have been looking at the Western System for new ideas and a new direction.
The 3 tier system practiced in Australia has generated a lot of interest and China's policy makers have decided to send various delegations to this nation for training. Our family doctor system (i.e. GPs) is the first area that has drawn their attention.
The NSW Department of Health has embarked on this project to sponsor the first GP delegation from Shanghai to Sydney for special training. Healthpac Corp, with its 3 comprehensive Medical Centres has been very honoured to be specially selected as the training centres for this history-making group, who will now be placed with our 20 strong bi-lingual GPs for their training.
At Healthpac, we provide training for Local Medical students, GP registrars, nurses and allied health workers, in particularly the traditional Chinese medicine practitioners. This is in collaboration with Sydney Western University, headed by Dr Henry Liang. We are going to extend this facility to Overseas health worker training program in collaboration with The University of New England, headed by Dr Minshen Zhu and Kristen Robinson.
We have also been appointed by various pharmaceutical companies as the Centre of Research for their products. We have just completed the study on test kits for various influenza viruses. In addition to this are a number of projects in the pipeline on Cancers Research in relation to Chinese herbs, a collaboration with Prof. Felix Wong of The University of NSW and Prof Basil Roufogalis of The University of Sydney.
We welcome any other interested parties to come on board in these very important area on Medical training and research. Please contact
